This 7 day/6 night program has been carefully designed with Puma tracking at its core while ensuring you also experience the breathtaking landscapes of Patagonia. While Pumas will be our primary focus, we won’t overlook the stunning scenery of Torres del Paine and the surrounding areas. We begin and end the journey with time dedicated to landscape photography, giving us the opportunity to fully appreciate and capture the region’s dramatic beauty. Beyond Pumas, you can expect to encounter a variety of other wildlife, adding to the richness of the experience.
As with all Experience Nature Photo Workshops and Tours, flexibility is key—we’ll adjust our plans to take advantage of the best photographic opportunities.
We’ll be working with the region’s best local guides, each with over 10 years of experience tracking Pumas and collaborating with photographers. More importantly, they are passionate photographers themselves, giving them a better understanding of what photographers seek. Their expertise will help position us for the best possible photo opportunities.
We’ll use 4x4 vehicles to get closer to the Pumas, but since these vehicles cannot go everywhere, participants should be prepared for some hiking with their gear (the guides can help to some extent). While we’ll minimize hiking whenever possible, Pumas are unpredictable, and tracking them may require navigating uneven terrain. Participants should be in good physical shape.
February is an ideal time to visit, with mild temperatures perfect for hiking and a low chance of precipitation. Since it’s summer in the Southern Hemisphere, the landscape will be alive with color and activity.
This is a truly unparalleled experience, offering exclusive access to top-tier guides, expert trackers, and remarkable locations. Expect to leave with incredible photos and unforgettable memories. It’s the perfect opportunity for wildlife and landscape photography enthusiasts to capture once-in-a-lifetime moments in one of the world’s most stunning destinations.
An extension to this trip will be announced soon.

Itinerary
The itinerary below is primarily to give you an idea of the logistics and transfer days/times. For location info and details of possible photographic opportunities, please read the section above.
Day 1 (Feb. 2): Transfer to Patagonia
After pickup in Punta Arenas, we travel to Puerto Natales for lunch and birdwatching before heading into Torres del Paine National Park for an afternoon of landscape photography. We then transfer to our lodge in Cerro Castillo for check-in and dinner.
Days 2–5 (Feb. 3–6): Tracking Pumas in the wild
Four full days dedicated to puma tracking! Each morning, we depart early for Pumaland, a privately owned area offering some of the best opportunities to photograph these elusive big cats. After a midday break at the lodge, we return for an afternoon session, maximizing our chances of capturing pumas in action. Expect two outings per day, totaling eight hours of tracking and photography.
Day 6 (Feb. 7): Torres del Paine
We rise early for a sunrise shoot in western Torres del Paine, hoping to capture the dramatic peaks bathed in golden morning light. After lunch in the park, we continue exploring the park’s stunning landscapes before returning to the lodge in the evening.
Day 7 (Feb. 8): Return to Punta Arenas
Our adventure concludes with a sunrise shoot at Laguna Amarga, where the towers of Torres del Paine reflect beautifully in the lake. After breakfast and check-out, we begin our journey back to Punta Arenas, stopping for lunch along the way.
Please note: We do recommend arriving a day earlier on February 1. You may also want to stay overnight in Punta Arenas or Santiago on February 8 on your way back home.
